Amitabh Bachchan had come to Bombay in the late ’60s to meet producers and hopefully get a screen test.
Fortunately, he got a chance to gave a screen test for a film on the set of the 1969 movie, Sajan. And all this was before Bachchan had signed for any film in his career.
The screen test was arranged by Nargis Dutt. And he was screen tested by Mohan Segal on the sets of Sajan.

Unfortunately, he was not selected for the film. Later on, he was selected for another movie ‘Saat Hindustani’ (1969) which became his debut as a lead actor in Hindi movies.
Sajan is a 1969 Indian Bollywood film directed and produced by Mohan Segal. It stars Manoj Kumar and Asha Parekh in pivotal roles. It became a hit at the box office.
